When UIndy earned its first-ever NCAA Division II playoff appearance, the campus was in a mood to celebrate. Nov. 16, the day before the #18 Greyhounds’ Key Stadium playoff game against the #8 Midwestern State Mustangs of Texas, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard (left) joined in a UIndy pep rally. President Rob Manuel (top) took a turn at the sledgehammer to help smash the Ford version of a Mustang (he said he was aiming for the bumper). The mayor, local sports icon Tom Zupancic ’78, head coach Bob Bartolomeo, and the president then dyed the canal crimson. It all paid off: the Hounds won, 31-14. Plus, the #19 volleyball team earned the right to host the Midwest regional.
