Margo West ’93 passed away October 8. She was the owner/operator of Cookies to You. She is survived by her parents; husband, Vic; daughters, Heidi and Megan; six grandchildren; sisters, Stephanie and Debby; one niece; one nephew; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She lived in Greenfield, Ind.

Marijane Blankman-Hetrick ’95 died December 6. Survivors include her husband, Craig; children, Benton, Jennifer, and Amy; stepchildren, April, Rachel, and Angela; brother, Thomas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was the first graduate of UIndy’s Department of Anthropology. She lived in Indianapolis.

Nicole ’95 and Brett ’96 Schierling adopted their daughter, Samantha Bo, on January 10, 2011. Samantha was born in Nanchang, China, on March 27, 2010. She joins her brothers, Jackson and Gunner, at the family’s home in Nashville, Tenn.

Owen Joseph was born to Bryan and Krista Cribbs ’98 ’00 on June 12, 2011. Owen joins his sisters, Reese and Paige, at home in Eudora, Kans.

Mattie Lee Solomon ’98 penned the book Missing Link, released on October 7. She lives in Fishers, Ind.

Travis Miller ’99 and Emily (Lohr-Stuckey) Miller ’01 relocated from Lancaster, Penn., to Indianapolis last summer. Travis accepted a tenure-track position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at UIndy, and Emily is teaching social studies courses for the Early College Program at the Charles A. Tindley  Accelerated School.


Annabelle Rose was born to Matthew and Christina Lung ’01 on January 19, 2011. Annabelle joins siblings Jackson, Carter, and Sophia at home in Spencerville, Ind.

John F. “Jeff” Whorley ’00 is president of Student Aid Services, Inc., which generates personalized aid eligibility and cost estimates for prospective students. Its technology and services recently were featured in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, CBS MoneyWatch, Chronicle of Higher Education, Education Week, University Business, and top professional financial aid and enrollment publications. Jeff has grown the firm in two years from a team of three in Indianapolis to 65 people nationally.

Melissa Zimmer ’01 died October 6. She served the Elkhart-Goshen communities at Family Medicine Center on Reith Boulevard in Goshen for the past three years. She is survived by her parents, Andrew and Lisa; sisters, Ashley, Grace, and Victoria; and brothers, Adam and Michael. She lived in South Bend, Ind.

Ewart Ferdinand Solomon ’02 died December 19. He lived in Indianapolis.

A son, Nolan James, was born to Bobby and Tiffany Thompson ’02 on December 1, 2010. Nolan joins older brother Liam at home in Fountaintown, Ind.

Evan Lee was born to Tricia ’02 and Greg Biehl ’03 on January 19, 2011. Evan joins big sister Ella at the family’s home in Urbana, Ind.

J. Scott Cline ’03 is a neurologist at Avon Neurology in Avon, Ind. He and his family live in Brownsburg.

Rebekah Watson ’03 is an assistant professor of communication at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. She lives in Winona Lake.

Christina Dabbs Brown ’04 is the wraparound facilitator for Clermont County Family and Children First. She earned a master’s of science in psychology from the University of Phoenix in September 2011. She lives in Mt. Orab, Ohio.

Kinsley was born to Gabe and Jessica Lowman ’05 on September 6. She joins her sisters, Karmindy Paige and Kaydence Shyanne, at the family’s home in North Vernon, Ind.

Sarah Elizabeth Sampson ’04 ’06 is an E-4 specialist at the Indiana Army National Guard. She lives in Indianapolis.

Jennifer A. Carter ’06 died on December 24. Survivors include her father, James; stepmother, Gayle; mother, Cynthia; stepfather, David; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jason, Cathy, Joshua, and April; grandparents, Alice, and J.C. and Norma Jean; stepsister and her husband, Emily and Nick; and nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Elijah, Gavin, Addison and Ashton. She lived in Indianapolis.

Katie Adams ’06 married John Langenderfer on April 2, 2011. She is a respiratory therapist for Miami Valley Hospital, in Dayton, Ohio. They live in Beavercreek, Ohio.

Jennifer Wilson ’06 married Jesse White on September 4. They live in Joplin, Mo.

Shawn Hany ’07 has been promoted to regional rehabilitation manager for American Senior Communities. She will be the consultant for rehabilitation care for eight ASC facilities in Indiana and West Virginia. She lives in Bloomington, Ind.

Lauren Nale ’08 married Ryan Koger ’10 on April 30, 2011. They live in Carmel, Ind.

Tejal Patel ’08 is a project administrator at Loyalty Research Center in Indianapolis. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a master’s of arts degree
in anthropology. She lives in Indianapolis.


Katie Dewey ’10 is a fundraising officer for athletics at Cocker College in Hartsville, S.C.  She resides in Hartsville.

Sarah Myers Drabyn ’10 is a registered occupational therapist for Invo Healthcare Association in Florida. She lives in DeLand, Fla.

Donna Brown ’11 is the assistant procurement manager for Worm’s Way, a retailer of garden products. She lives in Avon, Ind.

Kierre Childers ’11 received a Rotary Club of District 6560 of Central Indiana scholarship for postgraduate studies.  She plans to use the scholarship to study at European University in Geneva, Switzerland. She lives in Kendallville, Ind.

Desanage Rogian ’11 and John Fritts married on September 10. They live in Fairland, Ind.

Kyle Schwab ’11 is the staff accountant for Lids, Inc. He lives in Indianapolis.
