Dessert Diversion

December 8, 2009

Amanda Henderson ’12 hands out scarves as gifts to students who donated food items to the Better Indy Babies food pantry at this year’s Dessert Diversion.

The Student Alumni Association turned the Stierwalt Alumni House into a home for all UIndy students, filling it with delicious treats. All students were encouraged to bring in a nonperishable food item, and the proceeds went to the University Heights United Methodist Church food pantry for Better Indy Babies. More than 250 items were collected!

Wines Around the World

Chicago, Illinois, December 15, 2009

UIndy alumni who live and/or work in the Chicago area were treated to an exclusive wine tasting at the cozy A Mano downtown. They experienced nine selections of wines from all over the world, as well as delicious appetizers.

Arch Hawkins, pastor of University Heights United Methodist Church, his wife, Becky McClure, and grandson, Jackson Shepherd, helped pack the house.

Alumni Super Supper & Pack-the-House Night

This year’s alumni supper was especially super as we celebrated the golden anniversary of Nicoson Hall. UIndy grads were treated to food from some of our favorite local eateries and birthday cake in honor of Nicoson Hall—a fun night for all ages!

Faculty/Staff Alumni Appreciation Day

March 17, 2010

UIndy alumni who are also employees of the University were treated to a day of appreciation by the UIndy Alumni Association. The day began with faculty/staff alumni being treated to a morning dose of caffeine at the Perk in Schwitzer Student Center to help get them off to a good start. Later in the day, all were invited to a luncheon, where the 2010 Distinguished Faculty/Staff Alumni winner was announced. See the 2010 winners at

Graduates of the Heart

Those who left UIndy with a degree as well as a soulmate enjoyed a romantic evening of dinner and theatre on campus—and each couple received a special treat for attending.
