Homecoming 2010!

UIndy’s Homecoming Queen from 1961, Patsy Bymaster Shultz ’61, and 2009 queen Katie Gainey helped crown this year’s Homecoming Queen, Sophia Gonzalez. The 2010 Homecoming King is Mark Nania.

Homecoming Week: October 4–9, 2010

UIndy students, alumni, faculty, and staff celebrated the “Home is Where the Hounds Are” theme during Homecoming week. The Student Alumni Association and Polk Food Services threw a birthday party for Ace, the greyhound sculpture that was generously donated to UIndy by Orvall McCleary ’49. UIndy was treated midweek to an inside look at the Indianapolis Colts from team chaplain Ken Johnson. The campus community then came together for a stellar Celebration of the Flags on Smith Mall.

On Saturday, alumni of all ages came out for the tailgating contest. Winners included the Bargersville Little Doggies for the Most UIndy Spirit; UIndy Student Affairs for Most Creative Theme; the Titans for the Most Creative Use of UIndy’s Opponent, the Timberwolves; Hound Café for Best Food Presentation; Parents of the Pack for Best Use of Theme; the Fort Wayne Micah Crew for Biggest Group of Tailgaters; and OT Tailgaters for Most Enthusiastic Tailgate. Congratulations to all!
